Well, I'm on the even more pessimistic side, now. I just have a feeling the committee -- against all of its insistance that such things don't factor in their decisions -- will not want a sixth Southeastern Conference team in the field. And thanks to Georgia and their home court advantage, I think they just bumped the Cats out.

I pray I'm wrong.

That song was in my head all day for some reason. It's all I kept thinking about in regards to this team, which they obviously aren't the best, btu they jsut keep overcoming odds. As many losses as they've suffered -- both hard-fought and embarrassing -- this has been one of the most enjoyable seasons I can remember. It's just satisfying to see a team live up to and exceed its potential.

I'll give Bilas a pass this time, even though I completely disagree with him for all the points listed, because he backed himself in a corner by making a prediction too early and not considering the possibility that the Cats could make a miraculous turnaround.

I have to admit, I thought it was impossible two months ago that UK would win 11 conference games and 11 of 15. But I freely, and gladly, admit I was wrong.

Kentucky Wildcats: 2010 College World Series champions. They're another cople years away, but their current commit list for 2008 would rank No. 1 by Baseball America if they all end up on campus. At least four are likely to get drafted in the first four rounds, and as many as three might skip college.
