As a season long feature LogeLevel.com will look back upon the 1997-1998 Kentucky Wildcats. The year marked UK’s last national title and was also the beginning of the Tubby Smith era.
Ten years ago today 8th ranked Kentucky defeated 13th ranked Clemson 76-61. Wayne Turner led UK with 17 points, while Kentucky native Greg Buckner (pictured above) scored a game high 19. The game was played in Phoenix as part of the Premier Classic. The victory avenged the previous season’s overtime loss to Clemson in the BCA Classic.
