Kentucky Football Weekly Update: Week 11
By WillWe’re back in the saddle after three weeks off. After Mississippi State, Kentucky’s certainly no longer a unanimous top-15 team and Andre’ Woodson’s Heisman hopes are over. But the football Wildcats are still a top-25 team and still in the running for a New Year’s Day bowl. To the Update!

SI.com. Kentucky is No. 23 in Stewart Mandel’s Power Rankings:
At some point last Saturday, the Wildcats became mathematically eliminated from a chance at a division title (the SEC East is down to Tennessee, Georgia and Florida), but they still have a chance to play in their first New Year’s bowl in nine years by winning at least one of their last two.

FoxSports. Kentucky is No. 20 in the CollegeFootballNews.com Rankings at FoxSports:
The Ranking Should Be Higher Because … it shouldn’t be. At the moment the Wildcats aren’t playing like anything special. They’re struggling way too much to get the offense rolling again, while the defense has been merely average.
The Ranking Should Be Lower Because … it could be argued that Mississippi State deserves to be higher than the Wildcats. The record might not be the same, but the Bulldogs are playing better and are only two weeks removed from a 31-14 blowout in Lexington.
